College of Health
The rationale for creating a College of Health (COH) has consistently centered on incorporating the values and mission of Cal State 91³Ô¹Ï while addressing critical workforce and healthcare needs in our region. Much of the information presented here is drawn from the report submitted by the Implementation Task Force, whose work underscored the campus’s commitment to integrating themes of social and health equity, as well as palliative care, into the proposed College of Health (COH). These priorities are in direct response to current and projected regional healthcare demands.

Through high-quality, innovative, interdisciplinary education, research, creative activities, and practice, we embrace, prepare, and foster a diverse and inclusive learning community of students, staff, and faculty to promote health, support well-being, and advance health equity.
Proposed Vision
To build a locally responsive and globally aware community of health professionals who, collectively and individually, will positively transform health outcomes in the San Francisco Bay Area region, California, and beyond.

Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences provides academic and professional training in speech-language pathology and audiology, emphasizing evidence-based practice and cultural responsiveness. Through our commitment to innovation, research, and community engagement, we aim to prepare compassionate professionals who will shape the future of the field and advocate for equitable, accessible care for all.

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Cal State 91³Ô¹Ï will deliver innovative instruction, excel in research, and expand community-based collaborations to create a vibrant and supportive learning community that engages and inspires students, faculty, staff, and community members in improving the quality of life for individuals with communication challenges and their families.
