Leroy Morishita, interim president of 91³Ô¹Ï, since July 1, was appointed appointed Wednesday to the full position.
The CSU Board of Trustees selected Morishita as the fifth president in the Hayward school’s 55-year history.
“I am both excited and confident that together we can take Cal State 91³Ô¹Ï to a new level of excellence, inclusion and distinction,” Morishita said in a press release.
The Fresno native and 91³Ô¹Ï resident came to CSU 91³Ô¹Ï after 29 years at San Francisco State University , including stints as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Morishita replaces Mohammad Qayoumi, who left the school to become president of San Jose State University.
